What are Try-A-Trade® and Technology Activities?
Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities are career exploration at its best! These activities provide participants the opportunity to safely try a task related to a skilled trade or technology occupation under the guidance of an industry expert. They allow participants to try something new and discover career paths they didn’t know they enjoyed or that they might not even know existed!
Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities are a core part of Skills/Compétences Canada programming that can be found at the Skills Canada National Competition, National Skilled Trade and Technology Week events, and are offered by our provincial and territorial Member Organizations in a variety of forms.
Examples of Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities include:
- Laying a brick.
- Decorating cupcakes.
- Doing a mock job interview.
- Recording a video news clip.
- Changing a tire.
