Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) recently interviewed their National Technical Committee (NTC) members to learn more about their skills journey. These stories will be shared throughout the year.
Our first featured NTC is Ryan Desjarlais.
I teach at the Stevenson and Britannia Adult Learning Centre (SBALC) and I started my skills journey in 2017 when I was asked to chair the Regional Skills Manitoba Competition. I am currently on the National Technical Committee (NTC) and I also have the position of NTC Co-Chair. This role is a great fit for my work as a teacher as I am encouraging youth to discover the careers that are available to them in the skilled trades and technologies. I enjoy working
with youth and helping them develop their skills and find their passion. I also just received my Human Resources Management ticket and I am Métis.
