My career path
I worked as a mechanic (Red Seal) in a private company for several years. After a short period of time, I was promoted to the position of manager. In this position, I had the opportunity to teach auto mechanics part-time at a recognized college. Then I was recruited by Chrysler Canada for a technical position. Today, I work as a representative for Consulab. This company manufactures motive power products for teaching and training in colleges. It was my interest in cars and engines that inspired me to pursue a career in mechanics. I know I’ve chosen the right path because I’m fascinated by cars!
Skills for Success
I believe that all Skills for Success are important for work. In my field, communication and problem solving are crucial. Clear and effective communication with customers is very important to meet their needs. Problem solving is important to find out what needs to be fixed in the customer’s vehicle.
Job opportunities
I think everyone has a different career path. The career someone chooses to pursue is based on their personal interests. It’s important to do your research and examine the various options that are available. Sometimes it’s trial and error that leads to an interesting option. Then you have to go for it and work hard to succeed!
