My Skills Journey 

I competed in my Skill Area of Industrial Control at the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) 2018, in Edmonton where I won the bronze medal. I was also fortunate to compete at the WorldSkills Competition 2019, in Kazan, Russia. My involvement with Skills/Compétences Canada has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The skills that I’ve acquired while participating in skills competitions are immeasurable. 

Joining the National Alumni Committee 

I decided to join the National Alumni Committee (NAC) because I believe that this opportunity will enable me to enhance the skills that I use in Industrial Control. Being a NAC member will also help me build on my people skills, and provide me with more travel opportunities. I’m also really looking forward to becoming friends with such a talented group of people and sharing my skills experience with others. 

Overcoming Career Barriers 

Throughout my years of being involved in the skills movement, I’ve repeatedly learned from the major mistakes I’ve made at skills competitions. I’m dedicated to fixing those mistakes as I develop and advance in my career. 

Proudest Moment 

I would say that representing Canada at WorldSkills Kazan 2019, without a doubt, was the proudest moment of my career. It was unforgettable!
