My Skills Journey
My Skills journey began at the provincial skills competition in Saskatchewan, where I competed in the Mechanical Engineering CAD category and earned a spot at the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) 2024, in Québec City. At SCNC Québec 2024, I achieved something I’ll never forget – I won the gold medal and the Best of Region Award! Standing on the podium to accept my medal was an incredible and unforgettable moment.
Joining the National Alumni Committee
I joined the National Alumni Committee (NAC) to give back and help ensure future competitors enjoy the same life-changing experiences I had. I’m excited to contribute to these impactful skills competitions and connect with the passionate individuals who make them possible.
Overcoming Career Barriers
Learning new software has always been a challenge for me, but I had to adapt quickly for my job. When my company upgraded its manufacturing lineup to include a robotic welder, I relied on my Skills for Success to teach myself the new software and get the robot up and running. It was a rewarding experience that pushed me to grow and excel in my role.
Proudest Moment
My proudest moment so far has been winning the gold medal at the Skills Canada National Competition! It was an incredible achievement that reaffirmed I had chosen the right career path for me.
