Based on their success at the Skills Canada National Competition in Edmonton May 13 to May 16, 2012, over 30 competitors will qualify to become a member of WorldSkills Team Canada that will compete at the WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 Competition in Germany.
Showcasing such diverse skills as milling, tiling and dyeing, from 2nd to 7th July 2013 Leipzig Trade Fair will be opening its doors to over 1,000 competitors, 2,000 experts, 3,000 volunteers and 200,000 visitors. At WorldSkills Leipzig 2013, the world’s most skilled young people from 58 countries and regions will be competing in 43 disciplines for the prestigious title of world champion.
The organizers also want the event itself to be a shining example of ‘Made in Germany’ quality. Although the event is two years away, preparations for WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 are already running at full speed. The venue alone promises to be a real highlight. The Leipzig Trade Fair, one of the most modern fair centres in Europe, will provide visitors and partici-pants plenty of space for competitions and recreational time, offering 100,000 square metres of exhibition halls and approximately 71,000 square metres of open space.
